NATIVE WILDFLOWER -
Long Flowering Season
Lovely orange form of the much loved Welsh Poppy flowering continuously from May to October. Loves shade and fantastic for those awkward corners where little will grow. Self seeds readily.
Flowers: May to October
Position: Semi-shade to shade
Packet of 50 seeds
Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of the year. Sow thinly on the surface of a moist, free-draining seed compost (John Innes recommended) in pots or trays. Seal in a polythene bag and propagate at 15-20C either indoors or outside in a coldframe depending on the time of year. Germination can take from 1 to 3 months and can be erratic hence the need to sow the seeds thinly.
Growing Instructions: As the seedlings begin to emerge open the bag to increase ventilation and grow on at about 15C. When seedlings are large enough to handle, carefully pot up individually into 8-9cm pots taking care not to disturb the rest of the compost too much. Grow on until mid/late spring when they can be planted out 30cm apart in ordinary garden soil in part shade.
